About electric farms:
When the Electric Farms team joined together to start a company, they intended to create a business model that would bring better products to the market.
With a focus on community, family and healthy living, the team knew that if they planned it right, there would be an opportunity to bring better products to market for their local area. They also knew that by selecting innovative equipment and utilizing modern techniques in their growing methods, it would result in superior product outcomes.
With the passage of the 2018 Farm Bill in the USA, the team saw an opportunity to apply their approach to producing newly legal industrial hemp. With expertise in the areas of agriculture, environmental control, and essential oils and natural products, hemp production became a possibility for Electric Farms.
In 2019, Electric Farms became the first EnWave partner to process hemp products.

QUESTION 1: TECHNOLOGY SEARCH
EnWave: What specific product characteristics or processing capabilities were you looking for during your technology search?
We were looking for something to take our products to the next level. We had been looking at other companies but EnWave was the only one that seemed to be able to scale the technology with the product results we were looking for.
Mold is a big factor in outdoor grows and EnWave equipment had the ability to reduce mold counts drastically. Instantaneous drying was a huge plus for us and gave us a big advantage over hang-drying. This was a selling point for us.
Knowing that EnWave technology has the potential to dry other products was another reassuring aspect that could help with line extensions in the future.
QUESTION 2: FINDING ENWAVE
EnWave: How did you first come across EnWave when you started looking for a drying solution?
Electric Farms: I first found EnWave through a few investor publications. They were highlighting emerging hemp and cannabis technologies that were changing the landscape. I found out what I could online before traveling to Canada to see the technology in person.

QUESTION 3: BEST FIT
EnWave: What other types of drying/dehydrating equipment were you evaluating during your search?
Electric Farms: We knew that all of the existing methods including air drying and freeze-drying weren’t going to give us the results we were looking for. That meant we were looking for new technology from the beginning.

A major bonus for us was that EnWave’s REV™ technology could allow us to retain terpenes and hydrosol from trimmings that we would have otherwise lost.
Once we saw the results in person – the colour and the smell – we knew all of the right things were going to be retained during the drying process with EnWave’s technology. Drying is about one-third of the whole process. It’s a step you need to get right to have a good product.
QUESTION 4: PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
EnWave: How would you describe the technology evaluation process with EnWave? What was your experience like working with EnWave’s technical experts to find solutions for your business’s needs?
Electric Farms: I had to come to see the technology before I could commit but it was a great experience to see the pilot plant set up. I really paid attention to all of the components and what I would need to make it work at my facility.
Being in contact with the EnWave team really made me feel comfortable with the technology. They were careful not to over-promise on performance without data in hand. They wanted to set the right expectations for us and how we wanted to use the technology.
I was essentially putting my business on the line with this equipment. I needed to make sure it would work so that my business model would work. So far its been great for us!
QUESTION 5: CUSTOMER FEEDBACK
EnWave: What have been some of the best customer comments you’ve had so far from your internal team working with REV™ equipment?
Electric Farms: Everyone who tries this product tells us how smooth it is. It doesn’t matter what comes out of the machine – that’s always the feedback we hear from our customers.
We also know that because of the log reduction in mold and bacteria after processing, we can feel confident that the product people are receiving is healthy.

QUESTION 6: RECOMMENDATION
EnWave: Would you recommend EnWave to producers in other areas?
Electric Farms: Absolutely. Companies still need to plan their businesses correctly but this technology has been great. We’re happy to help local companies get it all up and even show them how the machine has worked for us. We’re a big supporter of our local community and want to help people get started.

We’re in this to make better, safer products for our customers. For now, its smokable and medicinal products but we see there were other future endeavors as well in the natural product space. We’re all about knowing our customers and supporting our community. For us, it’s a very personal business and we care a lot about the quality of products we produce.
